Coming off a tremendous Round 12 with the number one team in the league, and earning Player of the Week honours, Jacinta Hamilton took a moment to answer some questions about the Dandenong Rangers, her career and what she hopes for the future.

Congratulations on another successful season with the Dandenong Rangers. What is the secret to their success?
I don't think its a secret anymore but I think our success is a result of our depth of talent, work ethic as a group and that we really love playing together.
Compared to last year, has anyone specific stepped up exceptionally?
Everyone has worked hard on their game in the off season and have come back to the team stronger. Alison Downie and Jess Bibby are two players that are definitely demanding more minutes.
As a team, what have the Rangers been working on mainly? How about you personally?
As a team we've just been trying to focus on the specifics of our offences and get better at recognising what we can get out of them. Defensive work is a constant for us, so thats something we're also focusing on. Personally I've been working on my three point shot which I'd love to add to my game. I'm also concentrating on areas of defensive footwork. And strength work in the gym, which is a constant for me.
Do you have any pre-game quirks or traditions?
I like to relax as much as possible on a game day. Have a nap and stay off my feet. I'm not really superstitious, but I think I'm on to something with my pre-game meal, maybe a lucky brand of pasta sauce. I'll let you know if it turns out to be more than a fluke!
What do you see as the next peak of your career?
My next goal is to be a part of another Championship with the Rangers this season. To be a part of the Opals team at the Commonwealth Games and 2008 Olympic Games would be the ultimate.
What CD is in your player right now? The last movie you've seen?
I'm a top 40 girl, so a few mixed CD's as well as a bit of Usher and India Arie. I haven't been to the movies in a while but recently managed to sit through the entire Meet Joe Black... very glad I did.
Favourite sport other than basketball? Team? Player?
I've come to really enjoy soccer. Favourite team would be Dynamo Dresden, favourite player is number 20.
What is your most memorable basketball moment?
Hugging my sister Lucille after we won the championship with the Canberra Capitals in 2001/02. And watching Sam Richards pump her fist down the court with a few seconds left in last year's Grand Final. That was when I knew we had it.
If you could have one aspect of another players game, what would it be and why?
I would love to have Emily McInerny's defensive quickness, strength and anticipation. She's second to none and it would be amazing to be that good.
Which cartoon character do you think you're most like?
Maybe like Simba off the Lion King. Learning big lessons and figuring things out quickly.
How was your adjustment to the smaller size basketball?
I have found the change pretty smooth.
Do you have any postseason plans?
Not really. But if its with another championship medallion around my neck I'm not fussed.
